you’re creating content for your blog, you can never be absolutely sure it will become “link bait.”

Link bait brings in higher traffic than usual. Even the best blogs don’t achieve link bait status with their content EVERY time.

It’s all about evaluating what factors made previous link bait content so popular and using those factors as a guide when creating new content.

But there are some things you can do to heighten your chances of having content that goes viral. One technique is to incorporate visual content – particularly infographics.

Infographics use graphs, charts, icons and more to make statistics – or any other complex pile of information – easier to digest.

Because of their vibrant display of interesting facts, infographics attract more attention from readers. They are a popular tool for web marketers with a mission to achieve more inbound links to their website.

The best thing about using infographics for link bait is that you don’t always have to create the infographic yourself! Those who aren’t so creatively inclined need not worry.

If you find an infographic that is relevant and valuable to your audience, share it with them (being sure to credit the source, of course). Build your content around the infographic and be sure to direct readers to similar or related content at the end of the page.

For blogs that have enough influence, or Klout, it’s often just that simple to boost social media sharing. You can quickly create a link bait piece without expending too much time and effort.

What marketer doesn’t love when that happens?
