In internet marketing and advertising, a Contextual Advertisement is an ad on system that automatically puts relevant ads on websites (e.g. Google AdSense ads). The system scans the content of the webpage for certain keywords (or based on browser data) and then places ads accordingly. Contextual advertisements benefit all involved. The advertiser benefits from having their ad placed in the best locations to reach their targeted customers, the website owner benefits from increased revenue from their site, and the consumer has access to ads for services that are relevant to their needs.
