Overview:
Marchex is an advertising network that specializes in mobile and pay per click advertising. Marchex has local advertising services that include call distribution and call analytic services. They also have a publishing network of more than 200,000 owned and operated websites, including being connected to the networks for Google and Yahoo!
Price:
Advertisers on Marchex pay a fee for each call they receive from an ad, whether it’s online, mobile, or print advertising. They also have pay per click and pay per impression for their online advertising network.
Advantages:
Marchex benefits from being one of the larger advertising networks and by having a very strong integrated system that lets advertisers take advantage of multiple ad platforms. For online advertisers, Marchex has exclusive access to some of the most popular websites on the internet (e.g. USATODAY, BusinessWeek, and PC Magazine).
Disadvantages:
Because of the exclusive premium content they can offer, Marchex can charge higher rates than other advertising networks. Also, as with all pay per impression advertising methods, there are things that we publishers can do to their site that can inflate the total number of impressions the advertiser has to pay for without significantly increase the true reach of the ad.
