Facebook has become a powerful platform for business owners and marketers who want to spread the word about their products and services. Facebook has a wide variety of ad formats, targeting options and the ads are generally pretty effective. To help marketers better manage their Facebook ads on the go, the company has released an Ad Manager for iOS, with a version for Android planned for the future.
Before the introduction of the app, mobile users would need to use the Ad Manager mobile site. The Ad Manager was created last summer and is used by over 800,000 advertisers to manage their campaigns (this is nearly 40 percent of all of the advertisers on Facebook). The Ad Manager app allows users to handle the same functions but in an easier-to-use app framework.
Marketers will be able to use the app to create new ads, monitor old ones and change some of the settings. Using the app, marketers can:
Track ad performance
Edit existing ads
Edit ad budgets and schedules
Receive push notifications
“Our mission is to make the world more open and connected, and an important part of that is helping people connect with businesses,” the company wrote in a press release. “Today, we want to express our thanks to you and all of our advertising partners — 2 million strong and growing every day.”
Currently, the Ads Manager app is available to iPhone users in the U.S. on iTunes. The app will be released in other areas over the next few weeks, but still only on iPhone. Facebook hasn’t given a release date for an Android version, but they say it will be ready in a few months.
The Ad Manager app is a useful tool for business owners and marketers who want to closely monitor and adjust their Facebook advertising campaigns. As Facebook advertising becomes more important to marketing campaigns, this new app will make it easier to use the platform for maximum effectiveness. Hopefully, Android users won’t have to wait too long to use this new tool.
